Governance structure

General Assembly (Membership)

Role: Supreme decision-making body composed of all registered members.
Functions:
- Elect the Board of Directors/Executive Committee.
- Approve strategic plans, policies, and budgets.
- Review annual reports and progress.

2. Board of Directors / Executive Committee

Composition: 7–9 members (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Heads).
Role: Provide governance, oversight, and policy direction.
Key Functions:
- Approve organizational plans and budgets.
- Supervise management performance.
- Ensure compliance with laws and donor requirements.

3. Executive Director

Role: Chief executive responsible for implementing the Board’s policies and managing daily operations.
Reports to: Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee staff and programs.
- Coordinate fundraising and partnerships.
- Represent BUWODA at regional and national levels.

Each member of our team plays a vital role—from program management and community mobilization to administration and field coordination—ensuring that our projects are effectively implemented and that our beneficiaries receive quality support.

Mbeiza Marion - Chairperson

Marion is the heart of BUWODA’s leadership. With wisdom, humility, and a strong sense of justice, she guides the association with integrity. Known for her calm presence and motherly care, Marion is passionate about uplifting women’s voices and ensuring that community concerns are always heard at the decision-making table. Marion holds a degree in social work and social adiministration of Kumi University.

Mulago Ken Daniel - Executive Director

Ken is the visionary who drives BUWODA’s mission forward. His energy and strategic thinking inspire the whole team. Ken combines professionalism with a genuine connection to grassroots communities, ensuring that every program is both ambitious and practical. His approachable personality makes him not just a leader, but also a mentor and friend to colleagues and beneficiaries alike.

He holds a bachelors degree in Social sciences of Makerere University

Wotali Angela - Program Manager

Angela is the organizer who turns ideas into action. With her meticulous planning and problem-solving skills, she ensures that projects run smoothly and achieve meaningful results. She is known for her resilience, empathy, and dedication to community-centered development—qualities that make her a trusted bridge between BUWODA and its partners. She holds a bachelors degree in Education - Kyambogo Univerity

Naikoba Sandra - Finance and Administration Officer

Sandra brings order, transparency, and accountability to BUWODA’s financial systems. She has a keen eye for detail and a steady commitment to integrity, ensuring that every resource is maximized for community benefit. Beyond numbers, she is cheerful, approachable, and deeply passionate about building trust with stakeholders. She holds a bachelors degree in Community planning and Development and a diploma in Financial Management, , Mbarara University.

Peace Kalungi - Project Officer

Peace is the vibrant force on the ground. She works directly with communities, coordinating activities and supporting beneficiaries with energy and compassion. Her youthful spirit, creativity, and ability to listen make her a favorite among women and youth, who see her not only as a project officer but also as a sister and advocate. She holds a Diploma in Social work and Social administration, Kumi University

Babirye Babra - Program Coodinator

Babra is the team’s connector and motivator. She ensures that activities are well-coordinated and aligned with BUWODA’s mission. With her warm personality, collaborative spirit, and gift for mobilizing communities, she builds trust and unity wherever she goes. Babra’s leadership style reflects her belief that true progress happens when people work together. She holds a degree in Food and Nutrition

Muwanguzi Jordan - Human Resource Manager

Mr. Jordan Muwanguzi serves as the Human Resource Manager at Budondo Women Development Association (BUWODA). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Computing from Makerere University, combining strong analytical and technological skills with a deep understanding of organizational management.

With a passion for fostering efficient, transparent, and people-centered workplaces, Mr. Muwanguzi oversees staff recruitment, training, and performance management at BUWODA. He plays a key role in developing human resource policies that promote teamwork, gender equity, and professional growth within the organization.

His background in business computing enables him to integrate digital tools in HR operations—enhancing efficiency in record keeping, staff evaluation, and communication systems. Mr. Muwanguzi is committed to ensuring that BUWODA’s workforce remains motivated, skilled, and aligned with the organization’s mission of empowering women and improving community livelihoods.

Waiswa Grace - Driver

Mr. Waiswa Grace serves as the Driver at Budondo Women Development Association (BUWODA). He is a skilled and reliable professional with several years of driving experience, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of staff, beneficiaries, and project materials to various field locations.

Mr. Waiswa is known for his discipline, punctuality, and strong commitment to safety and vehicle maintenance. His deep knowledge of local routes and road conditions greatly supports BUWODA’s outreach and community programs.

Through his dedication and teamwork, Mr. Waiswa contributes significantly to the smooth operation of BUWODA’s field activities and overall organizational efficiency.
